Terms of Use

Last updated: [EFFECTIVE DATE] · Terms · Privacy · DMCA

Remote Vegas (“we”, “us”) is a guide to places in Las Vegas where you can get work done, plus community features: speed and noise checks, crowd reports, photos, Wi-Fi tips, tier lists, lock-in sessions, the #remotevegas setup feed, People profiles and a job board. Remote Vegas is run by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [MAILING ADDRESS]. Questions: [CONTACT EMAIL].

By using the site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

Who can use it

  • You must be at least [MINIMUM AGE, e.g. 13] to create an account.
  • You must be 18 or older to turn on a People profile (study buddies, coworking, networking). Profiles are off until you turn them on and confirm you’re 18+.
  • One person per account. Don’t pretend to be someone else or a business you don’t represent.

Accounts

Sign-in is handled by Clerk. You’re responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your People profile at any time from the People page. To delete your account and everything else, see “Deleting your data” in the Privacy Policy.

What you post

You keep ownership of what you post (photos, captions, replies, reports, tier lists, job listings, Wi-Fi tips, profile text). You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, resize, display and share it on Remote Vegas and in Remote Vegas share cards, so the site can work. The license ends when you or we delete it, except for copies already shared by others or kept in backups for a limited time.

When you post, you confirm that:

  • It’s yours to share. For photos: you took it, and it doesn’t show identifiable strangers (the upload form asks you to confirm both).
  • It’s true to the best of your knowledge (speed tests, noise checks, crowd reports, Wi-Fi details).
  • It doesn’t break the law or anyone’s rights, and isn’t spam, harassment, hate, sexual content, or someone’s private information.

Moderation

  • A person reviews photos, Wi-Fi tips and job listings before they appear. Feed posts and replies from new members are reviewed first. Members with a track record (three approved items and no upheld reports) can post feed posts and replies directly.
  • People profile text is live as soon as you save it, but anyone can report it.
  • Anything can be reported. Feed posts, replies, profiles and job listings reported by three different people are hidden automatically until a moderator looks.
  • We can decline, hide or remove anything, and limit or close accounts that break these terms. We may not catch everything and don’t promise to.

Meeting people

People, connect requests and lock-in sessions are for meeting in public places. We never show your exact location: other members see your area, and only people you’ve accepted see which spot you’re at. “Working here now” turns itself off within 4 hours. We don’t run background checks. Use your judgement, meet in public, and use Block and Report if anything feels off.

Job board

  • Posting is free for now. Listings are reviewed before they go live and expire 30 days after approval.
  • Only post real roles you’re authorized to hire for. A listing must never ask applicants to pay anything (the form asks you to confirm this).
  • Applications happen on the employer’s own site. We aren’t part of the hiring process and don’t vouch for employers or applicants.
  • We don’t copy listings from other job sites.

Wi-Fi tips

Only share Wi-Fi details a venue gives its customers (on a sign, a receipt or from staff). Don’t share private or staff networks. Venues can ask us to stop showing their Wi-Fi details at [CONTACT EMAIL].

Spot information

Spot details (hours, Wi-Fi speeds, noise, crowds, outlets) come from public sources and the community and can be wrong or out of date. Check with the venue before you rely on it. Be a good customer: buy something, don’t camp a table at the rush, and follow the venue’s rules.

Copyright

If you think something here infringes your copyright, see our DMCA policy. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.

Disclaimers and liability

The site is provided “as is”, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what other members, venues or employers do. Our total liability is limited to [LIABILITY CAP, e.g. $100]. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Changes and the law that applies

We may update these terms; we’ll change the date at the top and, for big changes, say so on the site. These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW, e.g. the State of Nevada], with disputes handled in [VENUE, e.g. Clark County, Nevada].
